Hi Nicole, it’s allergy season and I am more miserable and uncomfortable than I’ve been in a long time. It seems to get a little worse each year. Any suggestions when it comes to natural allergy remedies?

I hear from so many people this time of year who are suffering from allergies. My own favorite natural remedy for allergies is local raw honey. The idea behind using honey in this way is that eating it acts as a way to build up a tolerance for the local pollen – which is deposited in the honey by the bees as they move from flower to flower in your area. As you become less sensitive to the pollen, your allergies should, in turn, be less severe. I usually eat a spoonful each day prior to and throughout the allergy season.

If you need more support to combat really bad allergies or you’re in a new environment, my Stinging Nettle Tincture (available in the Apothecary) is a great addition and works wonders for me when I’ve needed that extra boost. I don’t usually have allergies but this year I most definitely have and it has worked so well for me! I have also had great feedback from people who use it regularly with great success.

If you have a lot of mucous, Yerba Santa is my go to for symptomatic relief – it really dries me up fast!

Finally, for more every day support (for allergies and general adaptogenic support) Reishi Mushroom Tincture is a great addition.

Also, do note that you can now search for things like “allergies” in the apothecary under the “Ingredients and Health Concerns” dropdown menu.

Best to you and I hope you feel better soon!
